The mother of disgraced wellness blogger Belle Gibson has hit back at critics, urging them to leave her estranged daughter alone following her interview where she failed to explain her web of lies.
Natalie Dal-Bello has revealed she felt heartbroken to see her daughter suffer the humiliation during the long-awaited and excruciating 60 Minutes interview with Tara Brown on Channel Nine.
Ms Gibson was unable to answer a series of questions, including her real age, which added to the confusion surrounding her claim that she had cured her terminal brain cancer with whole foods.
‘Belle told a white lie, aged 23-and-a-half. So what?’ Mrs Dal-Bello told the Herald Sun.
‘It is time everyone moves on from this and allows Belle to grow and be a mother to her little boy. She should be left alone so she can get her life back on track.’
The 51-year-old mother and her husband Andrew have made a heartfelt plea in a bid to rekindle their relationship with their daughter after watching her controversial interview.
‘That was like committing suicide — she should never have done that interview. (They have) really shown her up to be an absolute fool,’ Mrs Dal-Bello said.
